Digital Assignments

Dear Students
You are here at this blog post in continuation of our discussion about “Blog Assignment”. Let’s ride this information wagon...

1) Stop! First you must create your account at http://www.blogger.com/
2) Once you have created your profile, you have to write your first Blog on “Poverty Breeds Crime”. You must write at least 150 words.
3) Now post the URL of your blog (this is the web address that your readers will use to access your blog entry) in reply to this post (to do this use the comment tab of this post).
4) As soon as you get the URLs of your fellows’ blogs use that address to access, read and comment their posts. You should read two or three of your classmates’ BLOGS and you should respond to at least one. You may want to ask them a question or tell them something positive about their BLOG. (For details please read the section Peer Review)

Remember you will work in groups; detail of groups is given below. Each group is comprised of two members. First person of each group will act as Group Leader.

Peer Review
Feedback on your writing by your class-fellows is called Peer Review. As a peer reviewer, you can't simply say, "I liked it," or "I didn't like it." You want to give the writer information that will help to improve what the writer has written so far. You should try to be honest, but not personal or unnecessarily harsh.
Finish the following statements as best you can. Remember, your job is to help the writer.

1. In what ways does this piece deserve praise?

*Interesting topic? Why?
*Good details? Where?
*Effective words/phrases/sentences? Where?
*Well organized? Explain.
*Valuable point or lesson? Explain.
*Other:
A.
B.
C.

2. What questions do you have about this piece?

*Can you give an example of ________________?
*This sentence/passage is confusing. Can you explain it more clearly?
*One thing I really like about the writing is …
*One thing I think the author can improve upon is …
*Something I would like the author to tell me more about is …
*One last comment is …
